Tidy for TRMNL
Last updated: July 2026
What this is
TRMNL is a battery-powered e-ink display that rotates through glanceable screens. The Tidy plugin puts your Tidy workspace on it: your day’s calendar, open tasks, inbox highlights, project status, and more — always on, at a glance, with no phone in your hand.
The plugin is read-only. Your display shows what Tidy already knows; nothing on the device can change, send, or delete anything in your workspace.
Screens you can show
- Today: a one-screen dashboard — upcoming calendar, open tasks, and inbox highlights side by side. The default screen.
- Daily Summary: the day’s activity summary Tidy writes for you.
- Inbox Highlights: what matters from your email, without opening your email.
- Calendar & Tasks: a focused agenda view of upcoming events and open tasks.
- Project Status: a single project’s highlights and recent movement. Pick the project when you configure the screen.
- Analytics: a few numbers that describe your week, with 7-day trends.
- Meeting Brief: who you’re meeting and the context you need, appearing shortly before the meeting — and stepping out of the rotation when nothing is coming up.
Install
- Find Tidy in the TRMNL plugin directory and choose Install.
- Your browser opens Tidy. Sign in, or create an account right there.
- Choose the workspace to connect and what to share — calendar, email, tasks & projects, summaries. You choose per category.
- Choose Allow. You’re sent back to TRMNL and the plugin is live.
- Add the screen to a playlist. On the next refresh your display shows the Today screen.
Configure and manage
- Open the plugin’s settings in TRMNL to switch which screen an instance shows, or to pick the project for a Project Status screen.
- Want several screens in your rotation? Add more instances of the plugin — each one can show a different screen.
- For the Meeting Brief, mark the playlist item as Important so it can step forward when a meeting is near.
Privacy
- Only the categories you approved are ever shown. Screens for anything you didn’t share display a “not shared” note instead.
- The connection is visible in Tidy under Settings → Connected Apps, and you can revoke it there at any time. Revoking stops the display immediately.
- Uninstalling the plugin from TRMNL disconnects it on our side too.
